Feb. 22, 2010 - Country Garden Holdings Co Ltd<2007>, a real estate developer that does business in Guangzhou and Foshan in Guangdong Province, announced that its property sales jumped 97% year on year to RMB 1.08 billion during the Spring Festival, which lasted from Feb. 13 to Feb. 19.

The Hong Kong-listed developer said in a statement that sales area during the period was 170,000 sq m, up 58% from the same period of last year.

Country Garden plans to pre-sell properties at more than ten new projects over the next few months, according to the statement.

The firm's contracted sales revenue was RMB 2.2 billion in January, an amount 3.53 times that of last January, and contracted sales area was 370,000 square meters, 3.11 times that of a year ago, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
